Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug (Versions)

(02 Nov 2010)

The song "The Perfect Drug" is bliss, but this EP is shyte. If you're in the mood for listening to half an hour of the same song presented in 5 sleep-inducing ways, then this is for you.

If enduring all that weren't enough, the original "The Perfect Drug" is nowhere to be found in this release. Also, it would seem the 5 remixes suffer from the same mistake. They are all opened with a looong intro, that would, logically, be preparing you for some kind of grandiose part, which never comes.

Now, I will describe what your listening experience will probably be, so you don't actually test this.

The first song starts off with a promising intro, which goes on for about 35 seconds. Once you reach the main theme of the song, you realize how disappointing the crescendo was. Approximately 17 seconds afterwards, you get to be severely disappointed when you realize Jack Damages has already run out of ideas (he really has, I've checked the whole song). You skip to the next, then to the one after that, then to the last track, listen to a little of it, become pissed off and then rant about it in a site such as this one.

In case you bought the thing, well, think of all the uses this CD has, such as beer mat, makeshift mirror, frisbee, Christmas decoration, melee weapon or microwaveable fireworks.
